Dear Steve (Holmes)... for me you are a great person...musician and a good teacher (I saw your sample online...)... I studied drums from age 8 to 22... several clinics with great drummers (I'm 37 years old....)...
You say "I respect Lang, he is an amazing drummer"... this is a very good concept... I think that if you play with soul You are a great musician.... I like techician of drum BUT it's better the soul... for example... one of my prefer drummer is... Phil Collins... not for his techique but because he play GOOD!!!... a kind of music (for exept for BrandX) that I don't like...
I'm a fan of Vinnie from 1981 when I heard for first time in Gino Vannelli "Nightwalker"... from 1981 I'm looking for everything about Vinnie....
A note for Mr. Schreck: HI!... I know the sentiment about Vinnie... it's the same that there was in 80' with Steve Gadd... Vinnie was "young" (as Weckl)... and Steve was the first drummer on the hit... NOW... (generation...) Steve Gadd is in OLIMPO... in this period (I hope for several Years too....) there is Vinnie (and others great musicians...as TLang) and for now the people like Vinnie :-)
(... I remember... in 80' there was i.e. Tommy Campbel do you remember the fantastic foots of Tommy - see Zyldjan days video... - where is now TOmmy?...)
